Science w/ Arielle Duhaime-Ross – Ep.71

We might as well call this episode “weird science” with all the crazy coincidences we stumble upon up top. The super knowledgable science, climate and environmental correspondent, Arielle Duhaime-Ross (VICE News Tonight on HBO), joins us to dyke out about the big issues impacting the most vulnerable communities. It’s a fascinating conversation about communities that are rapidly changing because of changes in the environment and policies that are meant to slow those changes. She also shares her journey from hanging out overnight in the cold with salamanders to traveling the world for VICE media, and what it’s like to be a queer, gender non-conforming person in the field. This episode is crazy (the coincidences), interesting, depressing, hopeful, fun, thoughtful – there’s something for everyone! Oh, and just so you know, Arielle’s mom is NOT friends with Gordon Lightfoot.

Lesbian Sex Scenes w/ Erica Rose – Ep. 70

In this new episode, we’re getting down to business. Lady on lady business. Talented Director/Writer/Producer Erica Rose (Sour Peach Films, Girl Talk) helps break down the do’s and dont’s of a lesbian love scene, as we talk about the good, the bad, and the spit. Which steamy sapphic scenes have you hitting rewind again and again? Which ones feel the least authentic? How many do you think Sarah has even seen??? We tried to cover as much ground as we could, so don’t be upset if we didn’t get to your favorite! Before we dive into our topic, there’s some podcasting foreplay with an Ellen vs. Ellen discussion, a download on Russian Doll, and a recap of the worst part of our first live show at Stonewall. Will we see you at the next one on February 25? Plus, Sarah delivers some tough love in response to this week’s listener question.

Creative Journeys w/ Alice Kremelberg – Ep. 69

Any of you who watched the last season of Orange Is The New Back should be familiar with this week’s guest, actress Alice Kremelberg! Alice stopped by to talk about the journey of pursuing a creative passion, but we did not make it easy for her. First, she had to put up with Carolyn and Sarah arguing about Game of Thrones YET AGAIN. Then right when we’re getting to the good stuff, we manage to derail things with a spiraling conversation about how we’re all just careening toward a certain death at the hands of our technological overlords. You know, just light-hearted every day stuff queer women think about. As we compare career rejection to dating, Sarah pitches a new game show that we know a few of our listeners would totally be into. And as usual, we end it with a question from a listener whose ex was intimidated by her butch side.
