Weed w/ John-Allison “A.W.” Weiss – Ep. 103

We had a chill time this week with singer-songwriter John-Allison Weiss (who performs as A.W.) talking about a popular herb that we obtained legally and are old enough to smoke/ingest. Eventually the topic kicks in, but we take our time getting there to catch up on Ellen and Madonna. We also shout out a past guest who was in the movie Hustlers, and learn about Sarah’s foray into somewhat relevant queer content. Once the smoke clears, we tackle the topic and share our earliest experiences with marijuana. What’s our relationship with it? Does it play a role in the creative process? What are the draw backs? And please remember A.W.’s wise advise to be responsible and wait until your brain finishes developing. Finally, we roll it all up with our listener question about how to deal with her loneliness.

Hair w/ Wazina Zondon – Ep. 37

Wazina Zondon (HBO’s The Out List, Coming Out Muslim) swings by to talk about hair, and not just the kind on your head! We’re talking face, armpits, pubes, legs, arms – all of it. Do queer women feel the same pressure as straight women to be free of body hair? Where does that pressure some from? Porn? The patriarchy? Capitalism? Barbie? Hair removal is time consuming, painful, and expensive, so isn’t it time we took a stand, or should we just do what makes us comfortable? There’s so much to cover here! Yet we manage to also dyke out about hecklers, Calzona, and emo teenage moments.
